Stick shift Leather

Ive got a few questions

first off when i bought the car the leather that covers the stick shift was broke as in the plastic that holds it in place was broke in half so somtimes when i shift it comes up...looks trashy didnt know if i sho0uld just glue it or if a new one would be easier

1. Whats the leather called on the stick shifter? (not on the knob but surrounding it)

2. Are they easy to fix? and how much?

so the shifter boot falls down? Its pretty easy to fix.... just need a zip tie. Take your shifter knob off and remove the trim piece around the base of the shifter boot and pull the boot up and inside out. There should be a little notch on the shift lever where the top of the boot should be..... with the boot inside out, put the top of the boot on that area, then put the zip tie around it, tighten it down and trim it off as close as possible.... then just flip the boot down and put everything back together and your good to go

Ah, the retaining ring finally broke, didn't it? Common as all hell and actually, someone fixed this:

http://6litereaterdesigns.com/store/...roducts_id=256

Answer was to make up a wire retainer ring out of heavy gauge steel wire. I plan on getting one eventually when I change out my boot.

Best places to look for things like these:

6litereaterdesigns.com
ws6store.com
