axle back exhaust upgrade for v6 camaros

I've been looking all over the place for a good axle back exhaust for my 2012 v6 camaro... I've seen hundreds of videos, some of them from this forum... but I still can't make up my mind! I think it will be a slp loudmouth powerFlo but it is not for sure. This will be my first upgrade to my car so I don't want to mess up!! any suggestions??? specially from slp owners! are ya'll satisfied with their products? thanks!!!

I recently got the Borla axle back for my 2012 v6. I love the way it sounds. It's not obnoxious, doesn't drone and give a more enjoyable ride from a hearing perspective.

Check out Ark. Lots of happy people got the DT-S system they offer. It's also the very best steel for the lowest price, about 100 cheaper than borla. Call the guys from Ark and ask about the Sema sale pricing.

Check out the exhaust thread sticky in the V6 forum. There are many examples to listen to (use headphones.)

I am happy with the Magnaflow axleback system on mine. The Injen air intake seemed to deepen it even more.

Attend some meets and car shows in your area. Check them out in person. Everyone likes different sounds. And i really don't think the videos capture the true sound of the exhaust. Even with headphones. I have liked every one i have heard in person, including putting a set of LS3 mufflers on. My personal favorites are the FM AT, MRT v2, and the Borla. If you would save up a bit more while you research some "in person" sounds you will really like the SOLO and Corsa cat back stuff.

You're gonna find that just about every one who posts in here will tell you the greatest is..... And they will all be different.

If you are considering the SLP powerflo (as I was, at one point), go with the Loud Mouth 2. It is louder, but still has mufflers so it's not raspy. Within reason, the MRT 2, SLP LM 2 and other with high-flow rear mufflers are all in the same ball park for sound (it really comes down to which kit is better for you, cheaper maybe, easier to get, or you like the colour of the box it comes in). Everyone likes the kit they bought the best, so that really means you can't go wrong. The only ppl that I have ever heard NOT like their axle back kits are those that went with full muffler deletes (very raspy), but lots still do like that route. Good luck. damn! really really good suggestions, still not very clear on which one I want but definitely came across with other good options. Thanks to all of you. All I want is my camaro not to sound like an old honda civic! At first I was leaning more towards the slp loudmouth powerFlow, but the MRT v2, and the solo really caught my attention too. Don't have much time to go meet with other camaro owners but I will try my hardest to do so. A priority is also to keep the droning at a minimal! do most of this satisfy this?

I installed my own MRT 2.0. Then took it to the people who built it and had them weld it on.


I have had many members on this and other Forums say this is one of the best sounding systems they have heard and by far the best sounding MRT 2.0 system.

Take a listen for yourself. Listen to these thru some headphones or ear buds.

This last clip is one that danrc28 put together when visiting me to hear a MRT 2.0 system. He went from Toronto to Florida and back stopping along the way picking up sound bytes. The video starts off with outside rev's, then an on ramp full throttle run, then an acceleration run from inside while talking about drone. Tape finishes with me passing the camera on the highway doing 3rd gear runs. Which has not been recorded by anyone else using the MRT (or at least I am not aware of anyone with this type of recording.) (rcat's)
