Help me decide: Magnuson or whipple?

I can't decide what I want. Please help. I've been trying to decide for months now. I've done my research, I understand that the whipple makes power more efficiently. Apparently the Magnuson is better between 500 and 600 hp. And the whip is better from 600 to 700 hp. Does it all just boil down to aesthetics and personal preference now?

I live in CA so I want a system that will meet 50 state requirements. BUT I'm probably going to move to SC or VA this year. So really, that isn't going to matter in the long run.

I don't care about making 1000 HP. I think I'd be happy between 500 and 600.

I also want trouble free and reliable operation. And maybe a warranty too?

I have stock headers and a corsa 2.5" exhaust. Long tube headers probably won't be an option until after I leave CA.

I'm not a weekend racer, but I might be persuaded to make some autoX or drag strip runs occasionally.

Lastly, I want a red supercharger.

I'm ready to buy, I just need to decide which one is right for me.

Thanks!

Also, my LS3 will have stock internals for the foreseeable future.

Let me also take this time to thank all the vendors whom I've been PMing with recently. Thanks for your patience!

Same boat man... I'm thinking Whipple. I've asked and everybody I know is saying Whipple. I think both are good options.

Indeed, I've been leaning towards the whipple myself.

Might want to look into IPS Twin Turbo as well. Better gas mileage with a TT.

But if you had your heart set on a supercharger would look at a Maggie or Procharger.

I went with Maggie due to its my DD and I wanted the most reliable setup I could get.

Same as you, I am running on a 2.5 Corsa and stock headers. Love it so far but I just installed it last weekend. Getting in Dyno tuned on Tuesday so we will see the numbers then. Probably only around 500rwhp with the stock headers. My goal is only to have a bad ass DD with around 600rwhp. I am not looking for anything more than that.

Red is still available, last I checked. They are sweet looking setups, I am a little biased on that opinion though.... I have a red one too.

Whipple is amazing.
if you don't care to make big power and use as a DD, maggie is sufficient enough.

I chose a Maggie for a couple of reasons:

I got a good price on a Maggie
It will be my DD so going for max HP was not a goal
Whipple comes stock with 9lbs of boost, which in my opinion is the limit of stock internals
Maggie comes with 6lbs(?)

If I was putting together a dedicated track car/hot rod, I would buy the Whipple cause it's capable of more HP and I think it's more efficient. For a DD, I think the Maggie will keep me happy. And now that Ted@Jannetty has found a way to make the Maggies work at crazy boost, the potential is there if I change my mind. Just my .02
