After market tachs are for race cars and ricers. I have been thinking about a shift light though.

I would like a tach with shift light as well! I HATE how you cant see the tach at the shift point. No matter were I sit I have to look under the steering wheel to see the 5-7k rpm come's in at, looking under my wheel when I am trying to race is a joke! The light would be OK but I would rather have the hole thing as well. How would you hook it up, nice black auto meter tach with blue lighting would be sweet, watching my tach without taking my eyes off the road would be even better

The stock tach does not even track fast enough to keep up with a stock motor.

I put a shift light in mine though to keep the Rice effect down lol.

Auto Meter 9117 is what you need to create a tach signal.
Here is a good writeup on how to install it.

You could go with an aeroforce gauge on which you can set a shirt light. Simple as it plugs into obd2 port and can be used to monitor tons of other stuff also. Invaluable for me.

At 1st glance.....I think I like this option, especially plugging into the OBD2 Port! I need to read & analyze more about it.....

Thanks for posting!!!
