Anyone familiar w/ JVC head unit KWAV50?

I've been looking for a head unit to go with the Scocshe touch screen unit I'm waiting for. I came across a very nice double din unit that seems to be very reasonably priced. It's a JVC-model# KWAV50. Is anyone familiar with this head unit? It has provision for rear camera, DVD player, and just about everything I could ask for.

It has a touch screen display and is the only one that I have ever seen that is detachable. I was impressed w/ the demo unit, the screen is large and clear and appears to be larger than it actually is.

If any one is familiar w/ this unit please share your comments.

Russ

Hey bud...Looking into the exact same unit...Althought the model #
are different...I show the AVX-740 unit..They don't show that # on website . Future Shop has them...
I like the detach faceplate feature...I will be going with the Metra
kit thought...Interesting to see if anyone else has this set up...

From what I just read it looks like the unit you are looking at is nav ready. The one I looked at isn't nav ready. I have 2 portable GPS's so no need to pay the additional $$ for nav.

I haven't purchased a car stereo in 20 years but the price on these JVC units seems almost to good to be true. Is JVC quality not what it used to be?

Hoping someone will chime in with their opinion of the unit.

I just found this video on You Tube. The guy doing the video doesn't sound like he knows what is going on since he is just learning it too.

!
