21" Rim - Continental Extreme Contact DW's Delivered...
Just rec'vd the rear Continental ExtremeContact DW's in a 295/30/21 for the GM 21" Wheels from Tire Rack. So far they appear to be a good replacement for the Pirelli's that were 275/35/21. Hope to have the front tires at 245/35/21 delivered later this week or early next week.
Tremendous cost savings over the Pirelli's - $1050 delivered for the full set and they're reported to wear and stick great as well - Way to go www.TireRack.com ![]() Front Pirelli ($454) - 245 / 40 / 21 (28.6" tall by 9.5" Section width) Rear Pirelli ($521)- 275 / 35 / 21 (28.6" tall x 10.8" Section width) Continental Front ($197) 245 / 35 / 21 (27.8" tall x 9.8" Section width) Continental Rear ($223) - 295 / 30 / 21 (28.0" tall x 11.9" Section width)

Nice choice....
I don't understand why the 21" pirelli's cost over 100% more than the 20"s.....

I'm guessing these new sizes will give the car a low-squatty look. I'm very glad to have found an better alternative to the Pirelli's.

Interested in how the mounting and fit on the 21" GM rims goes as well as the look. I am probably going to do the same thing, please update as soon as you get these installed.
Thanks! |

Thanks for keeping me posted. My main question is fitting the rear tires on the factory 21" rims regarding the width and profile more so than the fit on the car. Let me know if you have any issues. Thanks!

Continential Extreme Contact DW Tires installed on all 4 corners.
Continental Front - 245 / 35 / 21 (27.8" tall x 9.8" Section width) Continental Rear - 295 / 30 / 21 (28.0" tall x 11.9" Section width) Ride is a bit sharper Turn-in is quicker Road noise is about the same as the PZeros Speedometer appears to read 1 mph higher than actual speed with the PZeros (before and after testing done with GPS) I rather the look of the PZeros regarding the sidewall height etc. These would be even better as 40's in the front and 35's-40's in the rear but for the money savings, the Continentals are great at half the price of the PZeros.

My first set of pirelli 21" tires lasted to 28k miles.
This was with constant track time, burnouts, driving hard etc. My 2nd set have 6k miles on it and still look new. |

. If that's miles then you have some PZeros with a better rubber compound than many of us have. Our rear tires were worn down to nothing at 18,500 miles with no track time or smokey burnouts and the front maybe had 2,000 miles of life remaining. At 18,500 miles our PZeros were very hard and would not hook at all.

UPDATE:
The Continentals are doing great. Much more quite that the PZeros and handle a bit better. I just looked up the Continential DW's on www.tirerack.com and the price is even lower that what I paid at $223, now priced at $182 for the 295 30 21. WOW!!!
