I got Rockford Fostgates 6.5" components that have the crossover built into the woofer so there's nothing else to mount. Tweeter fit right in. $90 on ebay and then $30 for the speaker adapter and $10 for the wire harness adapter from ********. Nice improvement.

Looks like they've come down in price even more since the spring.

Nope; haven't messed with it.
The doors took about 2.5 hours taking my time since it was the first time I had taken the door panels off. Only other thing I used was a trim removal tool and some double sided tape I lined the tweeter surround with. The stock tweeter retention bracket no longer fits so I used some tape to ensure it stayed very snug and nothing rattled. 1700 miles so far with no issues. |

I would not recommend changing the speakers until you swap out the amp first. The stock speakers are 2ohm and if you drop 4ohm speakers in their place and keep the stock amp, you will get half the power to each speaker. You likely won't be happy. Just sayin... A lot of guys are doing the amp first with our FARK harnesses and seeing excellent results even with the stock speakers.

I still got more bass and better clarity out of the 4ohm but usually have it turned up 2-4 bars more. Obviously a amp will be even better but there's no issue running it and there's a definite improvement over stock.

Most amps are not truly plug and play, but require some splicing of wires. Or if you have the BA system, using ********'s FARK harness kit makes it much easier to replace the stock amp for a much better amp.
