Question SS Springs and Sway Bars on a V6?

anyone done this yet?

would it be a worthwhile exercise?

i found take-offs for 29.95 ea (springs and sway bars)

also am planning on a convertible spoiler for 99.95.

shipping for all would bring the total to 304.85.

does this seem like a worthwhile thing to do?

i don't want to have my car handle like a race car, but a bit of improvement would be great. i plan on upgrading to the brembo brakes in the future as well.

thanks for any input!!

It's been done and talked about several times. Searching this forum will bring them up. Basically, if you're looking for minimal gains in lowering and sway control, they're not bad. For not a whole lot more $$, you can get a better setup that will actually lower you car more than 1/4in and give you much better feel in the corners. You gotta remember that the V6 and V8 are pretty damn close in weight and our sways are severely lacking for any kind of spirited cornering. If you're watching every penny, the Eibachs are pretty cheap and many of the guys that run them seem to like them. I prefer Pfadts setup but they're a little more than the Eibachs.

If you're not in a huge hurry, keep an eye out in the forsale section. Springs and sways come up for sale from time to time.

So you will see an improvement in overall handling with the V8 parts, but they will be pretty small gains. If you can find a V8 locally that has parts you can take off without paying for shipping it may be worth your while, but overall there will be much more improvement with a real aftermarket suspension than with the OEM upgrades. For example look at our sway bar comparison charts. You can see that the difference between a properly engineered aftermarket suspension is much greater than the small difference provided by the OEM parts. Each different bar on the graph for the Pfadt bars are different positions of adjustment on the sway bar.

For around $300 you can get BMR or LSR sways which will far outperform SS stuff. I wouldn't waste my effort with stock stuff. If SS owners say there's a huge difference between stock and aftermarket why change v6 gear for SS and pretend to be happy with a tiny improvement.

At the very least do aftermarket sways and if you don't want a big drop or harsh ride then combine them with SS springs but OEM sways are a waste of effort.
