Thinking about Adding B92 After Delivery?

Several of us are waiting for the B92 Exposed CF constraint to lift, hoping it gets removed before our order can no longer be changed. I have been told by my dealer that for anyone at 3000 or greater (where I am today), even if the constraint is lifted he cannot modify the order to add B92 (can anyone confirm this is the case? I am hoping this is bad info).

So what will it cost to buy it later and change it out yourself? It will be almost 4 times as expensive as the $600 option. B92 is going to turn out to be a very expensive option!

Chevrolet Part # 22845156 (B92 Exposed CF insert)
Wholesale = $1,697, retail $2,209.32

If you purchase he CF insert aftermarket, it will be more expensive than just ordering with GM. Save your money for other upgrades.

I still think if was originally on your order in October or November, and it had to be removed for your order to pick up, GM should allow you to purchase it at the option listing price of $600. Knowing that is a dream....going from
$600-2k+ is just insanity.

I agree it is insane to ask the customer to pay so much more for an option. The only thing my dealer has stated was that he would sell me the part for wholesale if it become available, but that is still 1K+ more than the option price. My dealer claims Chevy will never produce the exposed version but I don't believe it - the option is in the latest brochure published this week.
Anyone know how to contact the DBC at GM to change your order?

If you ordered B92, why don't you just be patient and wait for it. It's going to be here shortly. GM wants it on your car as much as you do.

My dealer had to use his allocation in the first week in January and B92 was on constraint at that time, therefore I could not order it with B92. Dealer has two ZL1's allocated for 2012, and he would not let me take the second one. He told me I would be back at the end of the line (he has more than two wanting the car) if I waited. I either gave up my spot or ordered the car without B92. I ordered andwent to 3000 within a couple days of placing the order. Dealer is claiming they cannot change the order after reaching 3000, however I heard that it can be changed by calling the "DBC" at GM - not sure who the DBC is or how to reach them. If anyone knows please post it.

Even if you do call the "DBC" now, it is still on constraint and not available. I have been told that it is very difficult to make changes after 3000 status is reached. Good luck, I hope you are able to make the change.

I would prefer to wait and have it factory installed. Just hope it gets lifted off constraint in time for the next wave of allocations.

I opted without B92 to speed up delivery, however once available I will add it!
