I am new to this website and I am the owner of the following Camaro below. I am looking recommendations on how to improve the horse power and performance of my engine as well as make it sound more like a muscle car (i.e. CAM, Headers, etc)
2010 Camaro 2SS Coupe Engine: 6.2 L, V8 W/SFI - 426 HP Thanks, I appreciate any and all feedback. Jimmy |

start with long tube headers and a good exhaust plus a tune. if that doesnt do it for you then do a cam swap

the names I see thrown around the most here are ARH or Kooks for LT headers as for exhaust it all depends on what kind of sound you want. Magnaflow are going to be much louder than say borla. do a quick youtube search of 2010 Camaro SS exhaust and you will be able to hear just about all of the options out there.

First off, are you ready to TUNE and say byebye to the warranty (for the most part)????
You’re main area is going to be the V8 Bolt-ons section found here: http://www.camaro5.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=11 You can start with: Cold Air Intake (lots of threads about those if you do a search, I went with CAI Inc because it had some of the top numbers in an independent test on here as well as it looks great with the enclosed case and black powdercoat) Long Tube Headers, again lots of threads on this and brands (Stainless Works [they have a cheaper non-USA made version like Stainless Power or something, Kooks, ARH, TSP etc…) I went through Chase@Apex here on the forum for my Headers and Suspension parts, great guys and great service! VMAXX Ported throttle body will help with a little bit of HP increase but this paired with the cold air Intake really helps the throttle response (JDP Motorsports, SC2150 and others sell these) Aftermarket exhaust (cat-back or axel-back) depending on what you do with Headers and also $$$, there really isn’t any performance gain with exhaust besides the weight reduction but you will get a great sound from many of the systems that are available. Lots of threads on this as well. Lots of Cams out there from small, medium, Large and again lots of threads to do some research and find out what’s right for you. Suspension is another issue you will need to pay attention too when you start climbing higher in the numbers to help eliminate Wheel Hop on the Manual transmission. Usually some good Trailing Arms and bushings will do the trick among other suspension components (Pfadt and BMR are the top suspension that I have seen, I love my Pfadt products!) Of course there are things like the FAST 102 intake, which from what I read really isn’t a great gain unless you have a monster CAM or larger cubes. There are Oil Catch Cans to help keep your engine clean. Pulley systems..you name it there are things you can do... You can always go FI: supercharge or turbo… though you will need to beef other stuff up as well. Many different ways to go when it comes to this so don't be surprised when you get bombarded with responses and questions. MAIN THING TO KEEP IN MIND: You need to focus on what you can afford budget wise and what your overall goals are for the car and how you want to drive it. Hope that helps

Jimmy, for starters......CONGRATS on the ride and Welcome to our happy little corner of the net, and to Camaro5. There is a BIG fridge on the back porch with anything you can think of in them...help yourself...of course only take what you can LEGALLY have. Make yourself at home on one of the big fluffy couches, kick your shoes off, put your feet up on one of the tables, yes we are allowed to do that, mom's, dad's, wive's, husband's, girlfriend's and boyfriend's here don't care....and take it easy.
![]() oh...btw....every once in a while a food fight breaks out...so you may not want to wear nice clothes here. Welcome!!

I'm running Stainless Works 2" LT headers and they've been great. Also have the Borla S catback. This exhaust flows amazingly well. Dyno #s prove it. I have cutouts and even with the cutouts opened I only gained about 2-3rwhp. Most exhausts setup exactly the same are gaining 10-15rwhp. Seems to prove the Borla is flowing very well. You can check my sig for other parts I have. I'll attach a vid so you get an idea of the sound with the setup I have. Welcome and enjoy your ride!!

One of the best mods you can do to your car would be a full exhaust setup. This would include headers, cats, and mufflers. This along with a cold air intake will give you a serious power bump and give you that muscle car sound you are looking for.
PM us or give us a call for more details.

Get a supercharger through SLP with a warranty (unless you have over 10K miles) best mod you can do for around $7500
