New to the Forum

Hey All,
I just recently joined the forum and wanted to say hi!
I don't actually have a Camaro at this time but am looking to order one this Summer. The information on this site is awesome and had made me re think some of the ways I want to configure my new Camaro. I have a tap shift automatic right now in my Grand Prix but think I am going back to a 6 spd manual. Test drove a vert 6 spd manual yesterday and it was a lot more fun than the auto I drove a month or so ago!
This won't be my first Camaro, I have had three others in the past! I had a '69 sport coupe, an '87 IROC Z, and a '99 Z28 (signed by Dale Earnhardt!).
So, I will probably have several questions in the upcoming months and I appreciate all help I get!!

gcope63, Welcome to our happy little corner of the net, and to Camaro5. There is a BIG fridge on the back porch with anything you can think of in it...help yourself...of course only take what you can LEGALLY have. Make yourself at home on one of the big fluffy couches, kick your shoes off, put your feet up on one of the tables, yes we are allowed to do that, mom's, wive's, husbands and boyfriends here don't care....and take it easy.

oh...btw....every once in a while a food fight breaks out...so you may not want to wear nice clothes here.

Welcome!!

Thanks all!!
I was reading through the threads today, how bad is the clutch issue? I would like a 6spd manual but not if the clutch is crap. I was not impressed with my '99 Camaro clutch and really don't want to go through it again..

Not sure what clutch issues you mean, but I think over-all its good...

I've driven clutches all my life, but with this one I did my share of stalling it out until it either broke in a little or I just got used to it! not sure which!

Thanks again!
the reason I was asking about the clutches is a friend of mine who bought a 2011 2SS M6 had to replace the clutch master cylinder at 8700 miles and her husbands boss had to do it at 3400 miles so I am wondering if these were just Monday/Friday cars or if this is an overall issue with the manual cars..
I don't have any pics of my '69, had it back in the early 80's and didn't save any. It was a sport coupe with a 327/3spd.. Sure wish I had that car now!! I might be able to find a couple of pics of the '87 IROC, loved that car, probably my favorite of the three I had! It was a 305/auto with T-Tops! Would like to get another someday... I will post some pics of the '99 when I get home, they are on the other laptop.. Have a lot of that one!!
The only reason I was driving the convertible was that it was the only 6spd manual on the lot and I wanted to check out the manual. When I order one it will be a coupe with the sunroof! It was funny, when I was driving the convertible it was dripping all of the time from the front seam.. I think it was from condensation but that would get annoying quickly!
