Speeding Ticket Question

Alright.... so i was pulled over today and given a speeding ticket. Immediately after being given the ticket I pleaded my case and the officer showed me his hand held device that said "01 - warning: speeding - posted limit" but did not give me another piece of paper. Does this mean he changed my ticket to a warning after already giving me the printout? He was super vague......

well if you don't know.....and accourding to your first post.....you don't......so it would benefit you to find out.......for the simple reason if you don't.....and let it go and just blow it off......you will end up with a warrent for your arrest.....and the next time you get stopped for ANYTHING......you would end up in jail. so there ya go.....If it were me....I would be going to the local DPS office, if it was the DPS that gave you the ticket/warning, or the office of whom ever gave it to you and enquire.

I agree with Sir Nuke, after a few days or so, you should be able to call the number on the back of the ticket and find out if it's been processed or not as a ticket or a warning.

Wait a couple of days and check the ticket number online... If it's not there you are good to go... but I would call and make sure anyway...

Also PM "TAG UR IT" with a link to this thread. He's a SA Police Officer and would definitely know what that code meant..

Thanks for the PM, Mike. Would love to help.

First, if it was a printout, that was done by a traffic guy. 99 times out of 100, they will NOT give warnings. If they stop you, it's a ticket. I don't know if those guys even carry warning books anymore...lol. (no, not really funny...cause those guys are pretty hard core!...obviously, they've heard every story in the book and they look at it like, "hey. I got a job to do. Plead it with the Judge.")

I need to see the ticket (what you got) to be 100% sure. But, it sounds like you got a ticket. I do not believe they can go back and change a citation that's been printed out to a warning after the fact. I'd call a buddy right now, but being it's 1:41am, not too sure who'd be up and out on patrol with the electronic citation doo dad.

I'll be MORE than happy to call tomorrow for you and let you know what's up.

Please PM me the details of the citation and I'll get it squared away for you tomorrow.
I'll need the ticket number, your TXDL#, plate #, and the officers name and badge. If I know him/her, I'll just call them right up and ask. But, pretty sure they can't change it from a citation to warning after the fact. (and we always tell people if it's a warning or a ticket before we go...at least, we should).

LMK the details and I'll hollar back at ya tomorrow.

Oh, and this won't come up yet. He still has to download all the citations in the electronic ticket thing to the city database. They might need to be checked first. Not sure. Check it again tomorrow and pm me.

The six-step violator contact is just more effcient. Not only does it translate into more time for writing tickets, you get the bonus of increasing FTA revenue.

If you are issued a citation electronically, then your J/P or municipal court receives it immidiately. FYI There are no warning citation on E-tickets. Take my word.
