wheel questions

I am buying an LS with the heritage steel wheels. I plan on buying a aftermarket wheel 18x7.5 (same size as original)to replace the steelies. Will the orginal tires fit correctly on the aftermarket rims? and tire pressure monitoring....will it pass safety inspections without it? im not installing the sensors on my aftermarkets.

I would get with irpq11. He has the original set of tires and wheels that are coming on his SS that he probably wants to sell since he is getting the 21" wheels.

He might give you real good deal.

Yes the tires should fit the new rim, however you will have to take the tpms over to the new wheels as well. If you dont the system will be in a constant warning state because its not seeing the sensors. Dont know about the safety inspection part of it tho.

Hesh is right unless you can deal with the tire light on or the message system warning going off all the time then u don't have to transfer the sensors. Also for the inspection all states are different but what i know is the the wheels don't fail inspection its the tread depth of the tires and make sure you have all lug nuts on

thanks for the info. i looked up some aftermarket rims on numerous webistes with the 18x7.5 size and they recommend a 245/45/18 tire. the LS comes with a larger 245/55/18 tire. basically i have to buy these 245/55/18 tires later as replacements to keep the same tire circumference but that size is rare and only found one company and model with them. seems odd...

Couldn't that all be solved with a tuning? Just have the sensors turned off?
