Unhappy Nervous and worried about my order.

Hi...this is my first post so I'm sorry if its not in the right spot or something.

So I placed my order two weeks ago for a Black 1SS Camaro. I'm a little worried though. First, the salesman wasn't that helpful and it actually seemed that I knew more about the car from just reading up online. Then, after picking out all my options and everything I just literally signed my name to a print out of my order and nothing else. Also, I couldn't get a exact/decent guess to when my car would be built & ready. I'm just wondering if this is typical or anything, this is my first car I've ever bought(buying) and not sure how this all works.

Also any idea when I could actually start planning on it being completed?

Thanks,

Jonathan

First of all welcome..
I would say research dealers on here, and find one with allocation still open. Then go in there and get your order in. There are plenty on here who will sell for MSRP or less, and still have an allocation open!! Much better than dealing with a dealship who is not very friendly or knowledgable!!!

Jonathan,

Welcome to the site! There is a ton of great information on here. It sounds to me like you need to find a different dealer. You need someone that you can trust at least a little bit. Not a shocker that you know more about the car. We have been over this again and again on here. Salespeople get paid to sell what they have and sometimes that's all they focus on (i.e. they will learn about the Camaro when they have ones to sell). The problem with the timing and when you will get your car is that no one can tell you that. You need a dealer that will tell you what is going on with your order (e.g. event code changes, etc). They are your best resource. Good luck!

Sounds like my experience except I know the dealer. This is the first car I have ever ordered and I expected more papers to sign when I ordered. But, as is pointed out in the forum a lot, the car is not really ours until it comes in and that's when all the paper gets signed.

Just keep in touch with the dealer and ask for regular status updates including event order status. And, if he sells it out from under him make sure everyone knows about it. Its bad for his business.

No one can give any accurate estimates of when the cars will be built or when they will get to the dealers. Welcome to the waiting room!

we signed a purchase agreement and made sure we were part of our dealers allocations (14000 preorders). we also had to deposit $1000 which was reflected in the purchase agreement of MSRP pricing.

you are not far away from us (Beloit/Janesville, WI). if you cant find one locally, my dealer has a couple allocations left and is MSRP priced. let me know if you would like my dealers contact info.

congrats on pulling the trigger!
