Car Insurance help please..

I'm 21(22 this october) and i've never been in any kind of accident nor have I ever had a speeding ticket....adleast on my record that is...

I live in Florissant, Missouri and plan on ordering a 2SS RS in between may-august.

Anyway I call my current insurance company which really isnt the best here I guess and asked for a quote on both the V6 and V8....full coverage both came to $800...I know this is a sports car, my age, and the year of the car but I look at the and know its waay too high. I was thinking somewhere between 400-500...not 800!!! Last thing I want to do is let insurance get in the way of me owning the car so it looks like i'm on the look for some new insurance for the camaro.

Anyone have any idea on a good places to look? Any help would be nice. I'm look for full coverge and with someone good.

800 for how long if it is for 6 months that's pretty good for your age.

800 for what? per month? per 6 months? per year? The best I could find (22, clean record) was about $900 for full broadend collision for 6 months.

If that's 6 months, I'd run with it. I got my STi before I turned 25 (major decrease in insurance rate) and it was close to $1300 for full coverage. I'm more in the $500 range now, but the car is over 4 years old and I'm 29 with no accidents or tickets. I'm afraid to call my insurance agent to find out what it will go up to for the 2SS when it comes.

I'm getting $430 for 6 mo from State Farm, but I've not been 21 for many years. From what I hear from younger friends w/ Camaro/Mustang etc, 800 for 6 mo wouldn't be bad

800 a month Sorry about that guys. I just called back and he said about $600 to $700 a month but he said alot of companies dont have rates on them at the moment so since its a new car its considered a risk because of parts possibly going bad so at the moment thats the rate he has but told me not worry about it if I plan on buying later(a few months) because it most likely will go down.

I just want to be ahead at possible options so if its the same I can go somewhere else when I get the car.

Yeah those numbers dont sound bad at all. I could easily afford that. I think thats what I will go for considering thats what its looking to come up too from most.

800 a month is INSANE! I was getting some pretty high quotes, like $3200/yr, but I went to AAA and they quoted me at only $900/6 mo. I suggest you check them out! make sure to have a VIN from the models you're interested in, as they don't have 'em in the system yet. And you'll have to call them and do it over the phone, because they don't allow you to select the camaro through their online builder.

You insurance agent is an idiot Find another one

Seriously... 600 - 700 a month is highway robbery... and inform him they can't jack up prices on first year runs because of parts... last time I checked, my insurance company did not do warranty work.

By the way I pay $172 a month from Progressive for my '01 Silverado and my '06 Evo... but I also passed 25 a while back.

That is crazy!!! I had a Probe GT when I was 21 with some tickets and was paying $1200 every 6 mths. Sounds like highway robbery to me. State Farm quoted $325 every 6 on the LT. Clean record now !!!
