Ive seen something around 6500 but it doesnt say if this is just for the kit or if that is install too? Whats your reasons around this not being a good idea?

You have to cut away a good bit of the body structure. The verts have under car reinforcements the coupe doesnt have. Once you cut out those rails that run along the roof, good bye structural integrity. If you are an "all show" guy, then fine but the car is going to creak and flex like crazy.

Oh and heaven forbid you get into a crash!

This type of mod is for show only. If you crash (knock on wood) and the adjuster notices your roof has 2 big holes in it bye bye coverage.

IROCanSS, What year is your IROC? I have a 85 in the garage with 89,000 miles on it. Mine is blue also. As far as for T-tops in a new model!!!!! V-6 car maybe!!! SS, no way!!! Dont know how the structure of these new cars are. But 400+ hp.....and t-tops....Trouble with all kinds of stuff later down the road. The new convertables have a lot of support to suspension and frame of the car. Something to think about!!!

I loved the t-tops on my 89 and 90 firebird... but I would be beyond afraid to have them in this car non factory.
moonroof suffices to an extent.. or go convertable but no way would I trust this mod from a non factory. way to much power, would flex like crazy and cause tons of problems

west coast customs does it for like 6-8 grand. And it looks much better IMO than drop top.

I have the T-tops conversion. Check out my build thread. They are done by DTC in Florida and the cost is $7k plus transport.
