Sat in my first 2010 today - thoughts and lets not forget who this car is meant for

It was V6 - its my understanding all dealer cars are V6 to start for showroom.

After reading some of the complaints today I was expecting to be disappointed which I wasn't.

Its pure Muscle Car - If you used to own one like me you will like this car
Cloth Seats were very very comfy
Back seat had room youd expect - fine with me
Interior while a little plain was kinda cool in its simplicity

Its what you expect from a muscle car. I think a lot of us who are older (Im 39) and used to have one at one time forget that Camaros were never meant to appeal to us but the younger crowd and we never complained about visibility, lack of luxry features etc when we were young. We wanted a fast simple car - and this is the car

I have a 2SS Black with Cyber stripes on its way and im very excited.

Its a great car.

Times have changed. In my opinion the public wants more than just a fast car now. They want to have a fast car but they also want the cool features that their friends are going to get in their Prius. Don't get me wrong. I have a Camaro on order I am just saying that I think the mentality has shifted now.

I ordered a 1SS because I like cloth, I want to save the money, and I don't need all that extra fancy stuff like bluetooth and a USB port. However with the 1SS I can still connect the IPOD thru AUX and get the same thing, just without steering wheel controls. I am upgrading the sound system so that will be nice.. However the real reason I am getting the car is the cool look, and the speed of the engine.. I don't need anything fancy..

I agree. But what's missing? I'm a nerd so I love and expect all the gadgets. The only thing I can think of really is HUD and I don't think the Prius has that. You want a screen that yells at you and tells you you're getting 2mpg while doing burnouts? lol. Anyone who truly wants good tech will not say nav unit because in-dash nav doesn't make technological sense for a variety of reasons. The USB port, bluetooth supporting A2DP, etc are pretty much the top of the game. I haven't researched it but I think you would be hard pressed to find other cars that support A2DP (the iPhone won't even support it until the 3.0 firmware).

Only 2 tech features I think are missing are

1. Touch screen navigation
2. Blind spot detection - lets be honest with the MASSIVE blind spot on the Camaro there is no reason this isn't on there.

Buyers are more consciencious now, some looking for retro, many looking for something new and different..CAMARO is the answer. Just hope GM is listening. Stop jacking up the prices. Sell to the masses. Open more Camaro plants in the US. Recover your losses, or at least your PRIDE.

WI agree - it should offer a NAV system - these are basic to every car these days and another reason GM is GM. The HUD is coming which will be great!

yes, 39 is not old but a lot people drove their first muscle cars from 18-30 years (my guess)

There is a lot of comments on the visibility issue - I just meant thats usually not the #1 concern of the muscle car drivers.

If I could order one with manual windows/ no cruise/ no bs, Id be on it. Give me the extra gauges and cloth interior and Im happy. If you desire fancy sauce your probably a vette man.
