Question for the Photoshop Gods, about PS - Camaro5 Chevy Camaro Forum / Camaro ZL1, SS and V6 Forums

Quick question for those skilled in Photoshop. I'm a bit of a 'noob' using the program, i.e. i use it for personal amusement changing car colors, and toying around with rims, but one thing continues to have me beating my head against the wall:

how the heck do you change the color of a white/silver/black car. it seems that using the hue/saturation adjustment does virtually nothing to white. what's the trick to changing shades while still maintaining the detail of body panelling/sun glare of the car?

I've tried using quick masks and using color replace, doesn't seem to work right for me.

i appreciate your answers, and if doing this is infinitely complex, just let me know that i'm in over my head. thanks guys

you need to adjust the RGB values, which is somewhere under the Image tab (or layer maybe), I haven't used it for a while though. also, it seems like white was the easiest to change once you find the menu.

Have you tried checking the colorize box on the hue/saturation window?

I know it's a obvious answer, but have to ask.
