Steel wheels on rear for drag radials

Anyone using the steel wheels for the rear and putting drag radials on them?

I know lots of people are using the 18" z06 from wheels, others are using the high dollar 17"s, and then they have the 20" radials.

But what about using a set of steel 18's for the rear and putting radials on them?? Havent seen any thread on this?

Are they real heavy or something?? Seems like they would be lighter than a 20" factory wheel.

Just wanted to kick this idea....

What steel wheels are you talking about? I don't believe that the 18" LS Heritage wheels will fit over the Brembos, at least not without a big-@$$ spacer. Plus, I think they're really too narrow for any decent width drag radial. As far as I know, there are no other "steel" wheels that will fit correctly.

If I remember correctly, the 18" steel wheels are actually heavier than the 20"s that come on the car. The Z06 wheels are pretty cheap if you shop around.

Yup was thinking about the heritage wheels. But sounds like they are too heavy and dont have the right offset to work.

Good to know anyway

I put 18's from a 2014 LS on my 2013 SS/RS with 1.5" spacers to use for winter season. Did not want to take the summer tires off my 20's. They look a little dumb but serve the purpose for the short threat of snow and ice. I had to go with 1.5" spacers because that's how long the stock studs are. Shopped around to find 1.5"-4.75-14mm-concentric spacers.
