price difference between 18" and 19" tires
Does anyone know what kind of price jump I would see going from the 18" rim tires 245/55R18 to the 19" rim tires 245/50R19 tires?

I called a local tires shop and they came back with $1750 for 4 of the 19" tires and $1600 for 4 of the 18" tires. Either way those are expensive tires!!!!

WTF? I was looking at tirerack the other day I think and they had 19's for about $131 each and 20's were like $192. I'm sure the 18's would be less. But of course I was looking for the cheapest all-seasons and not the best high-performance ones they had...

Yeah thats crazy I just got a set of Nexen 305/40/22's for $500 and they seem to perform pretty well. I might even say better than the expensive 305/40/22 Nittos I had originaly on my truck.

it sounded too high but I have never purchased tires those sizes before. When the time would come to replace the tires I will certainly shop around like crazy.

Several months, maybe even a year ago, I asked my tire man about tire sizes. For what it's worth, he told me to try to stay with either the 18" or 20 sizes, not the 19".
