2010 2ss or 2011 2ss?? Which should I get?? need advice
hello ive found 2 camaros. 1 is a grey 2011 2 ss /rs with 29k miles on it about 600 miles away from me. The other is a 2010 black 2 ss /rs with gfx with 27k miles on it about 200 miles away. Which one would be the better deal? Also how good are camaros? I dont want to buy a used car to have it in the shop all the time. Also I keep reading about paint chips, is it really that bad??

what are the prices they want for each? The one major difference I can think off between the 10 and 11 is that the 11 will have the HUD installed. Paint chips are an issue yes, but an easy solution would be a clear film on certain areas of the car, lots of threads about that on here as many members have done it.
They are about the same mileage wise but you will get the better remaining warranty with the 11 granted you don't mod. I guess give us more info on the prices they are being sold at. Do you like one of the colors better by chance? |

You really need to see both in person. Were they taken care of/maintained? Were they owned by someone who only drove it mostly on highways and didn't do much with the car, or was it some punk that redlined it every time he drove it? Look under the car for oil spots. Check the rear wheel wells for rubber. Are any aftermarket parts involved? Was either car ever wrecked? What kind of shape are the tires in (this can be a significant factor in price since a new set will run you $1,000 or so)?
As far as the differences, the only real difference in year models is the heads up display which is cool, but by no means a make-or-break. These cars are pretty reliable. Mine has never been in the shop. As far as paint chips, every car I have ever owned (and driven regularly) has paint chips. Want to keep it from happening? Wrap it in bubble wrap and keep it closed up in your garage.

they are both around 28k. I like the black 2010 because its black and comes with the factory gfx. both car's tires look worn, I think they got a good year left on them. Also the 2010 was driven less. I checked the carfax and whoever had it before looks like a lien was put on the car and was sold to the dealer. any thoughts? From the pics the black looks real glossy and nice. I worry about black cars because if not taken care of the black starts to fade. I future plan is to turn it into the zl1 eventually. Not all at one time though. little by little.

The grey 2011 one looks like any old 2ss rs. I kinda wonder why its soo low pricewise. Lowest price ive seen for a 2011. They are usually in the 30ks. It does have high miles for a 1 year old car. Its still looks nice though .

well with any color you need to maintain it to keep it looking good, but with black you do have the chance of seeing swirls and haze alot easier. the previous owner could have used the car a collateral for a loan or something, that could cause a lien and then he lost it, not sure.
It seems like you like the 2010 black one a little bit more from your previous statements. I say go test drive it and see it in person and you know what your gut will tell you to do. the HUD is not worth buying the 2011 for just because it is there but take a look at both if you can and see what your gut says. If the carfaxes look good then I think it's a win win either way you look at it ![]() also, see what the quotes for insurance are like between the 10 and 11... that will add to total cost (ins + car payment) |

Most importantly, previously mentioned, the only main difference is the HUD. Basically forget that one is a 2011 and one is 2010 it's a tough reliable car so that doesn't really matter.
Base your decision on the actual condition of the car, the color and how it appears to have been treated. |

i drive a leased 2009 audi a4 now and my insurance would go lower on the v8. I like the 2010 more because of the gfx. which means I really dont have to invest any extra money in the looks because I would be content with the factory gfx. Eventually I would start modding it to the ZL1 but thats 2-3 years down the line

The paint chips are caused by debris hitting the front bumper, hood, mirrors, etc when the cars moving forward. I don't mean to sound like, well this is what happens. If a rock, small gravel comes in contact with any car while its moving forward more often than not its going to cause a chip or scratch or whatever. It's just kinda dumb that people are blaming GM for the inevitable paint chip. It will happen to any car. Put a bra on your car and stay off the roads if you don't want chips.
