Vehicle Lighting Laws in MD?

I have been look everywhere online for these laws and I cant not find them anywhere. Any cops in this area or guys that know where I can get the laws for headlights, side markers and such. Got some ideas for some things and I know red and blue is reserved for emergency vehicles.

Like can you run the Knight Rider K.i.t.t led scanner while driving? I see semis and trucks run similar amber lighting systems while under operation with no problems.

Ok but seriously, scroll towards the bottom.

The site is a local department but the laws are statewide.

red or blue on the front of a vehicle while in motion is illegal. It's reserved for emergency vehicles.

OP, having flashing, strobing, or etc lights on the front of your vehicle while driving.

Yo Stiegs, does the flashing/strobing/etc apply for vehicles not in motion too? I've always wondered if the law can roll up to a car show and lay down justice on some folks. Like Romeloc or our resident Batman.

No, hence the word motion. One must be on a public road to be illegal. Brake and tail lights must be red only and marker lights must be amber only.

Private property is the operative term here; not motion. As most packaging refers to it "off - road".

If pop your strobes or wig-wag on while at a stop light because you "aren't in motion" you're gonna be unpleasantly surprised by your citation.

I have red fog lights so does my brother, plus he has red halos
I also have underglow lights that I turn on from time to time while driving(sometimes by accident). I never had any legal issues(knock on wood). But when I had blue fog lights one cop did stop me and say I was impersonating a cop! But no citation. It's def illegal, only amber or white goes in front and red for the rear.
It's a gamble you take when adding those lights to your car...just don't run into the wrong police officer on the wrong day.

This one is pretty broad, wouldn't you say?

22-230(c) USING LAMPS OR EQUIPMENT - A person may not use on a motor vehicle, trailer, etc., a Headlamp, Auxiliary
or Fog Lamp, Rear Lamp, Signal Lamp, or Reflector which reflector or lamp is required under this title,
or parts of any of the foregoing, which tend to Change the Original Design or Performance.

I read that statement like 5 times just now and Im lost If you kepe the original housing and change the color does that fall under changing the design lol. And aftermarket 5-10k HID give better vision at night so those are illegal according to this because they change the performance of the vehicle vision wise. lol Idk.

Well according to this you could technically run an underglow with white lights.

22-221(b) RUNNING BOARD COURTESY LAMPS - Any motor vehicle may be equipped on each side of the
vehicle with not more than one running board courtesy lamp that emits a White or Amber light without glare

That there is one of those vague laws that the officer will articulate. Kind of like "speeding above reasonable limit" or something like that. All they have to do is argue it.
