So I got the "Great News" email today, and was excited, even though my dealer is backing off on his claim to honor employee-pricing (dad's retired GM).

Anyway, I sort of figured that would be the case, but then I received a second email stating "GMAC just took over Chrysler financial, which means dealer floor planning is in complete disarray across the board. Don’t know if it will cause issues in delivery times or not."

Does anyone have any insight into this? I'm not sure why it would matter operationally. If anything, I think they'd speed up deliveries, just to book the sales revenues before they declare bankruptcy. And how GMAC plays into this, I have no idea...they're essentially separate corporate entities. Then again, all of my "common sense" predictions have been wrong in regards to ordering this car.

Also - first time poster, long time reader. I'm waiting on a 2LT/RS automatic IOM, with a few of the bells and whistles (rally stripes, sunroof, 20" polished aluminum wheels). I didn't really pre-order, but I was lucky enough to find a dealership where someone who had placed an order later backed out in mid-March. I just changed the options and paid a deposit, although it's still been a seemingly long wait. Status went from 3000 to 3400 last week, and now I think it's 3800 or 4000...it's difficult to get a straight answer.
