hey guys, just to let you guys know, this site is great. Collectively it is more useful than any double talking dealer could ever be.

Ran to my nearest reputable Chevy Dealer (at least i think so, Win Kelly Chevy in Clarksville, MD). Ordered a 2SS. Dealer said they had 3 allocations before I ordered, said they preordered 7 since October, I was 8. Of those 7, 3 have been delivered, a two SS's and a LT. So I have 5 ahead of me, 2 of which are SS's.

My questions, and excuse me for being a noob, are- Should I have gotten an order number today (Dealer said he will call me as soon as it's put in by the General Manager)?

And how long should it take for me to get an order number if I wasnt supposed to get it today?

Oh by the way, what does TPW stand for? (yeah such a noob, i searched briefly and couldnt figure it out.) Thanks in advance folks.

Welcome to the site, don't worry about the order number he'll call in a day or two. It only takes about ten minutes as long as theres no hiccups in putting the order in.

yeah i placed mine my dealer didnt give it to me til i hit 2000 and it was accepted by gm it took a couple days no biggie.

Welcome to the site and congrats on the order. Depending on who exactly inputs the order, it might take a day or so to get it. But I would stay on your sales person and get them to send you the order number. It shouldn't take longer than a week to get it.

usally the manager will do that . in my dealer there is only one guy able to put in the orders . sit back relax and enjoy the show .it gets really good .

orders in my area only get entered on tuesdays.................so give em' til tuesday.................then you'll get a trackable 6 character order #.

but all you'll need to know is that you'll be at event code 1100 (order placed at dealer), for about 4-6 weeks............sounds like your dealer isn't getting many monthly builds.

but CONGRATS..........and welcome to the waiting room!

I also pulled the trigger today in Glendora Ca.along with my sales manager and for MSRP!!! One silver and one light blue 2SS/RS polished wheels and moon roofs!!!!So how long is it gona take!!!.............................Day one.And counting.....

Welcome to Camaro5, Arabiannite! Hey, we were all noobs at one time or another. What the other guys said. They should be able to give you an order number as soon as it's entered into the order Workbench system. Good luck.

Thanks alot for all the input guys. And yeah, I know it's gonna be a while, but here's hoping for the best for all of us. I hope we're all riding sooner than later.

Thanks bluch, I've been scratching my head for a while trying to figure that one out, I knew it had something to do with making the car, because everyone's excited for it, just couldnt pin it.

In some dealer ships if you order from a dealer with not that many orders you will get your car sooner. Also if you order like a 1lt with no options like the rs pakage than you will get your car ALOTT sooner
