Engine Removal
Has anyone removed and ls3 out the top with the trans still attached??

yes, but it is not fun. You need about 4 feet of clearance under the car to remove it this way with a hoist.

And the risk of damaging a fender/nose/fender well, etc. NOT the ideal way to do it but if you have no 2 post lift available it can be done.

You guys should take photos and do a writeup while removing your engines. It would be insanely valuable for the rest of us and it would give a good idea how to perform almost any part r&r. something like http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=125123 The rest of us would be forever in your debt,

Engine load leveler works like a charm w a hood removal cones out throught the top even w the headers on

Don't feel bad, I've had my front pfadt sway bar installed for 2 months and my rear one is sitting in the garage since my move. A pile of parts are sitting in the garage too. Stupid jobs and too small garages.
