GM says they can't make their bond payments June 1. This is a signal that bankruptcy is a real possibility.

I learned yesterday that my Camaro's delivery date has been delayed and that it will not be delivered before June 1.

Chrysler's Bankruptcy on May 1 abruptly ended deliveries of Challengers anywhere in the pipeline. Chrysler reps continue
to assure customers that the orders will be built...someday.
Many who ordered are now looking a dealer lots and some bought Monday-Wed for MSRP or more. On Thursday
Challengers could be had for much less. One guy got a $38k MSRP car for $32k yesterday.

There is uncertainty in waiting for an ordered muscle car...
Good buys for Chally now or maybe Camaro soon.
Questions about warranties/financing should scare off all but the well-heeled or intrepid enthusiasts.

I disagree. It doesn't scare any of us enthusiasts one bit. We believe in the product and even if GM declares bankruptcy, warranties will still be honored. Ask anyone who is taking their vehicle into a Chrysler dealership today for warranty work. Go buy one now.

I did not know they were already having difficulty with warranty work. Thanks for the info. I too will just wait.

I'm saying go out and buy a Camaro because you are not going to have a problem with dealers or GM not honoring warranty work should GM declare bankruptcy. Take a look at this website and see how many people are screaming for their Camaros. That should tell you something about the faith we have in the product.

I don't have to be the first in town to have one. I'll wait till the car is out a while, I can test drive one, discounts are available and bugs and initial recalls are out (AND we know more about what is happening with GM).

I'm waiting even though its hard. After driving a 2SS/RS like the one I ordered(Only Black) i can't imagine NOT getting this car. Those that don't at least wait this out will be sorry someday.

If I don't get mine before the height of summer activities I will buy a used GT500 to get me thru a couple years until the GM mess is straightend out. By then (if the Camaro is still available) it should have DPI, 3.73 rear end, HUD, and possibly a convertible.
I've already been looking at the used market for the GT500, and there are some real deals out there that would not lose too much more value in the next year or so. I'd take a lightly used GT500 convertible for the same price as the new Camaro coupe.
But if GM would finally ship my car the point would be moot. Cars with VINs all before and after mine have shipped, and mine is not in a quality hold.

(I gave up and got a GT500) 5/11/09 - order cancelled 5/27/09 - vehicle arrived at dealership for whoever bought it after me
