BBK LONGTUBE HEADERS

okay my friend had a v6 2010 camaro as i do and he had the BBK long tube headers with high flow cats for it and he said it sounded and ran amazing which is all good right?,, well he later said that these gave him engine probles to were the engine was knocking??? he said this is probably like an idiot diddnt change the oil soon enough and lead to brand new engine from GM under warranty after he had the aftermarket parts removed.. he still has the headers which he said will trade me for my iPad.. i know i know random but i would like to do it if it doesn't cause me engine problems?!??!? please help and give recommendations orr tips or possibilities as to what happened to him. The long tubes did not lead to his engine failing...I can assure you that.

No, they'll destroy your car even worse than they did to his. But tell your buddy I'll buy a new iPad for him if he gives me his headers.

How about we make a deal? U get the headers from him, then give them to me. I'll buy u a brand new iPad and we are all happy. Lol

No the headers didn't cause the problem, id take the deal in a heartbeat... But that's just me

Brand new ipad2 only cost $399 now. A used ipad 1 can be had for around 150-200 or so. A brand new BBK LT ceramic coated cost $799 so depending on the condition of the header I say is a nice trade.

When your DIC tells you to, or every 5k miles. Every 3k is just overkill and frankly a waste of money (no offense to those that still use that practice). Your car has an oil life monitor for a reason, no harm in using it.

Do not use the oil life monitor.

Check the oil regularly as on this engine oil level is crucial to engine health, and change oil every 3 to 5K. I myself tend to do it more in the 3 to 4K range.
