Test drive dealer liars

I was on the phone with a dealer today I was told I could come in and drive a ss manual blk/ I got to the dealership and the guy took my lincense to make a copy. I went in back to see the car and the sales guy was trying pressure me into buying it right there . I told him I cant cauz Im in the process of buying a house. He knew nothing about the car at all. I told them I was here to test it out he said you cant drive it unless you are going to buy it. I told them they need to get their shit straight as to what you tell yur future customers. Then I asked if I could try the v6 auto they said no again.
So I said GO F**k OFF. and left . Went to another dealer and was able to try a v6 auto and it was pretty cool i loved it. I pulled up behind a convert. pony boy a honked the horn then i went around him and just waved. He looked pissed off lol it was fun.

Just beware of liars telling you you can come in and test drive 1 and then they dont let you If you are one of those sales guys that do or have done that GO F**K OFF.

Always take copies of your license with you - show them your license, show them the copies.. give them one.. but always keep your actual license. This is a long time ploy to keep you around, while they are "getting" or "looking" for your license. Same thing with proof of insurance, and even using an extra key should you take a car in for evaluation on trade. Never put yourself in a position where you cannot get up and walk out.

CamaroDan, I have to tell you that I am not sure why you are pissed. I think if I was the dealer I would have done the same thing to you. These are some of the first SS cars on dealer lots and you want to go for a drive in a car when you have no intentions of buying? Certainly, they shouldn't have told you they were allowing test drives on the phone or they should have clarified that test drives were for serious buyers only. And I don't see why they wouldn't let you drive the V6 car at least.

If you want to joy ride go to Avis pay your money and rent one for the day. It is not uncommon not to allow non buyers to joyride in vehicles like this. I bet they would let you test a Malabu or an Impala (not an SS). What were you thinking......Not only are these cars not broke in and it sounds like you might want to open one up but if it goes over 200 miles they have to sell as a demo rather than a new car. If you and 20 other guys like you took one out for a spin with no intention of buying that car.....well you do the math.

how come people get to test drive camaros, are they the dealer's car that you get to drive? i stopped by my nearest dealer and they said that the couldn't be test driven because it was already sold, which i completely understand. they said it will be a while before they get through the pre-orders. does this mean that they sold the dealer show car, or whatever it is?

Grow up before you buy a house.....Oh maybe they will let you move in and see if you like it before you buy that too.
I have to agree....why waste someone's time? I don't understand, maybe its me

My dealer only recieved their V6 dealer car. It was sold before the car even came in. However, the owner of the dealership told the person who wanted to buy it that they had to leave it there for a month I believe, had to let them use it for their unveiling event, had to allow some people to test drive it, etc. The person who bought the car was very nice and agreed to all of that. I got to drive it because I have one on order and told them I wanted to drive the V6 when they got it in, but they were also letting other people drive it. They really are a great dealer to work with.
