The first 3 Camaros of 12 at my dealer are all at 3800 (Produced) - Camaro5 Chevy Camaro Forum / Camaro ZL1, SS and V6 Forums

The manager at my dealership just called me at 9:50 a.m. Friday morning. He wanted to tell me that I now had a vin number!

He went on to tell me that as of Thursday I did not have one. He checked the system and told me that my 2SS/RS was produced at 4:30 p.m. Thursday evening.

He told me that although this seamed to be really good news I should assume nothing concerning delivery. The reason being that #1 at the dealership (I am # 2) has been at 3800 since the 8th of May and they still do not have it. Number #3 at the dealership is also at 3800. He checked while we were on the phone to see if any had moved to 4000 (shipped) and they had not. He said that almost no dealer within a 50 mile radius of our area had their Camaros yet. I am hoping our area is getting ready to have a tidal wave of Camaros come in and mine is on the wave. I will keep everyone posted on this issue. He told me that he checks on the status of the Camaros every day so I am sure he will call me as soon as one or more moves to 4000.

you might be getting that call in two weeks, but it is an exciting feeling having your car built

You are right about it being an exciting feeling. I was calling all my friends last night to let them know that my car was now built!

If their first few cars were built in march or early april, don't compare yours to those. Those early ones (first few 1,000 or so) are in a different catagory all their own. Recent builds have been shipped within days of production.

That is good to know that recent builds have shipped within days of production! That means my Camaro could be here next week or the week after that.

I think as time progresses the time frame from being produced to shipped to dealer will be shorter. Once the car is built it cannot take more than a week for them to prep it for delivery. Then assume a few more days once it has been shipped. I think anyone who is at 3800 should see their cars end of this month, imo. Well lets hope so.

But I'm still not sure how quickly the cars that are getting factory stripes are being shipped out.

I have no Stripes, so hopefully mine will be shipped out sooner. I thought about Stripes but felt it takes away from the color of the car. Of course it is all personal taste.

Good point in that to date I have not seen any delivered Camaros with factory stripes. I really hope there is not a delay in shipping out the first Camaros with factory stripes.

I heard from my dealer this evening! They say that my 2SS/RS shipped on the 19th and the dealership paid for the car on the 20th. They say that they expect the car to arrive next Wednesday the 27th!

In addition to this #1 at my dealer was built on April the 8th and to date it still has not shipped! Finally my dealer told me their V6 demo car is also in transit, but they still do not have it. It was at a railyard in Ohio on the 18th. They are hoping it arrives soon!

My car has factory installed stripes (cyber gray).

Things are progressing nicely now. My dealership just recieved their V6 demo car late Tuesday night. It had just got to the railyard in Petersburg, VA on Friday. The first day it could have made it to the dealer was Tuesday due to the Memorial Day Holiday on Monday. My car was estimated to make it to Petersburg on Wednesday, but as of noon yesterday it still had not made it there. I am hoping to get a call today to let me know my car is in Petersburg, and will be at my dealer on Friday or Saturday. The manager at my dealership told me once it makes the railyard it will leave quickly because unfortunately the haulers are not delivering many other cars besides Camaros.

I went to look at the V6 demo car last night. It is a SIM 2LT/RS, and it looks real sweet. They have it on the showroom floor. There were plenty of people who came by that day to see what the 2010 Camaro is all about. I hope it leads to many more sales. GM need a hot selling car and I think they have one.
