Any recommendations for built-in radar for the ZL1?
I'd like to have radar installed on my ZL1 when I get it.
What brand do you recommend? I know there is probably I thread on here some place... Thank you in advance. |

i had a passport 9500 remote system installed, its neat it has front and rear and lots of options, cost around 2500 installed, it does get annoying with the false alarms but speed limits are so low where i drive i need it.

Why do you need a radar detector in this car? Not like it's fast or anything.

You might want to consider a stealth system as the windshield has a special coating for the HUD that can reduce range of incoming/reflective doppler.

I am getting an Escort 9500ci installed in mine. It has sensors mounted on the front and rear bumpers and includes a laser shifter. I have had three of them in different cars and trucks and they work well and are completely hidden. A little expensive, but worth it in my opinion.

My only concern is that I don't want to drill into the car to install them. Apparently there's a way to attach them with double sticky tape. |

I also have a 9500ci and it is great. No tickets since. I have it mounted right in the grill on my Z/28 with double sided tape. All the wiring is a pain to run but it is not that hard. Just takes some time. I need it for the ZL1 but don't want to take it off the other car and don't want to buy another one. Not being portable is the only bad thing I can say about it.

MY advice would be. Take it to the track and don't speed. Thus nothing needed.
