Was quoted $1600.00 to powderocat Brembos

Ok, So I call Livernois Motor sports here in Michigan and i tell them I have a 2010 camaro SS and I've been considering powdercoating my Brembo calipers to a red color and ask how much, They say $1600.00 That's to take them off and the whole process and what not. I didn't even consider that but what are your thoughts????

Aslo I called another company and asked how much to just paint them while still on the car and they quoted me $200.00 so I think i'm going that route as I'm not going to do it myself as most people have just because. Is that a fair price? Also this company quoted $600.00 to powdercoat.

Don't mean to put any company's on blast but Livernois Motorsports is out their mind

Mike the powder coater is your answer. He charges like $300, and his work is as good if not better than anybody around. Even has cores (with a core charge) if you need it.

I just bought genuine GM SS red covers and I think they look awesome. $200. Installation was crazy easy, and I get less break dust on my rims.

I may have confused you, sorry. The second company I called quoted me $600.00 to powdercoat which I think is fair from what i've heard from people on this forum but Livernois Motorsports quoted $1600.00

Livernois is outta their minds. I've seen people on here get their wheels PC'ed for a few hundred bucks. I would hope they misunderstood you and quoted somethig else.

i would never think to go to livernois for a job like this. a place that specializes powder coats is going to be cheaper. idk livernois is more of a performance shop more than anything.

Wonder if they didn't quote you for a a set of red brake calipers, not on having the current ones powder coated.

You are right but I work in the area and thought I'd give them a call. They are big on performance but charge an arm and a leg for anything they do.

Nope, definitily no mix up. He clearly understood me and even explained the process and said it would cost $1600.

1600 Is a rape.

You Can take them off you're self it's only 2 bolts per caliper. The whole thing would cost you 300 bucs.

Tell em to stuff it. If you remove your own brakes, you should be able to get this done for $300.

Not defending anyone but to do true powder coating the calipers will have to be taken off, completely disassembled as no rubber or plastic can go into the oven. Sand blasted then sprayed and cooked in the oven. Re-assembled put back on the car and bleed the brakes.

Just general guess
Take off and tear down 1.5 hrs, clean and prep for coating 1 hr, spray and bake 1 hr, re-assemble & inspect 1 hr, re-install and bleed 1.5 hrs That's 5 hrs plus materials and they are probably figuring this per Caliper.
