Time Stamp

My dealer emailed me today and told me that my order had a "time stamp" for May 7 and also told me my car was on track to be delivered by the end of the month or next week with a bit of luck. What exactly is a time stamp and is my dealer blowing smoke or is he correct?

My dealer gave me a date for delivery (22 May) said he received the invoice and that they usally arrive a couple of days early.

Dealer told me he received the invoice today, a copy that was available on line and not the original.

not to be a downer but......... I got my invoice 21 days ago and my car has not left CAN. My dealer told me I would have it on the 6th of MAY- Have them doublecheck workbench and confirm your code, if they are just going by the date on the invoice they could be wrong, will keep you being heartbroke when your arrival date comes and goes

A time stamp is just an identifier for what time an event occured. Like when you get a text message on your cell phone it has a time stamp associated with it to let you know when that particular text was received.

In this case the "time stamp" refers to the date that your order status changed. for example

Status: 3800 -Produced (May 7, 2009)
