Stock or aftermarket gaskets for Solo cats?

I bought the Solo high flow cats from someone on here and I was wondering if I can reuse the stock gaskets at the header flange. Car only has 4500 miles. Thanks.

It would be faster to PM goingsolo2 and ask. I think mine came with gaskets which I used. I like using new to eliminate the possibility of having to go back in and do it again.

I'd reuse / buy new stock gaskets. I know aftermarket header gaskets are junk compared to the OEM ones

The ones for stock manifold to mid pipes are fine. Not like the aftermarket headers ones people talk about.

Alright thanks. I had some Solo gaskets shipped to me (free) but I've heard of people blowing them out. Also I'm having a shop install due to lower back pains :( so I can just blame them if the gaskets blow lol.

Unless you were sent a fiber type gasket, I can't see them blowing out. I've ran the SOLO's on two different occasions in the past with no blowout even after a few thousand miles.

But if you have GM ones and they fit well, should be no problem either.

You are going to love the SOLOs.

I did a BUNCH of Youtube etc searches to find the best sounding mod because thats all I cared about at the time. Axle-backs were too quiet, I already had the muffler delete, catbacks are pretty expensive compared to the power they yield. Then I found out the downpipes on our cars are crap, power wise, so I went out to look for the best cats and ran across JBA and Solo and then when a good deal showed up I jumped on it. Looking forward to the 20-25whp and the awesome sound.

The Solo fire seal gaskets work great for their high flow cats. They crush/seal into place and shouldn't have any issues as they tend to hold up fine under proper installation.

The Solo cats are awesome. I love them with the MachXL catback. Anyway, mine came with new gaskets from Solo, so I just used those. No issues so far.

you talking about using the stock manifolds and wanting to re-use the stock manifold to mid-pipe gasket? I bought some used JBA high flow's and couldn't re-use the stock gaskets the are metal and have a ring indented in them. I had to go and get a set of gaskets from Autozone.

Sometimes it takes a little while to get a response from the forum, especially if it's a topic that has been discussed many times. If you need to know something asap, use the search function. I like the google one better.
The pic is the stock gasket. The gasket has the part# and direction stamped onto it. Notice, no fiber to blow out. Not sure what your solo gaskets look like.

Pretty sure his SOLO gaskets look nothing like that! Too many holes.
