My rear blackout pic (SLP blackout/Sparks SS badge)

I just installed SLP's rear blackout panel along with Sparks Restorations SS badge.
I really like how it turned out. The hardest part of the job was removing the glue/black foam under the factory bowtie. I used Goo Gone but it was still a lot of rubbing. But total job was under 1 hour from start to finish.

Similar to a decal but its made out of vinyl (similar to the stripes found on most cars). It comes in 3 pieces. You get the middle section between the tail lights and the two small pieces that go between the tail lights.

I've been debating this mod for my car but I want a stripe kit such as yours...not sure if the stripe kit with the black out panel would be overkill with black on my car and the hockey stripes as well or not....gotta think hard on this one. Looks great on your car...what was the price on the whole kit including the SS emblems?

It's $185.00 total mod (after tax) the way I did it. The SLP blackout kit is $42.00, but the Sparksrestoration SS badge is 135.00.

The Spark's badges are expensive, but they're made from solid billet aluminium (unlike some of the inexpensive badges out there).

Wow! They think a lot of the SS emblem, don't they? Did you have to drill holes for the emblem? It all looks great on your car!

No, you just peel back the plastic and its got a real sticky surface on the back.

I just heated the bowtie for about 5 minutes with a blow drier. Then used fishing line starting on each end working towards the center. Earlier models (like mine) have guiding posts on the bowtie. I believe 2011 - 2012 models do not have guiding posts on their bowtie. So the fishing line will not slide all the way from one side to the other. You need to slide the fishing line until it hits the post on each side. Once you've done that, the bowtie comes off easily. I took a flat plastic detail tool and gently lifted the bowtie off. But I could have probably just pulled it with my hands because it was pretty much coming off the car already.

Once removed you're left with 2 small guide post holes (early 2010 models). The holes get covered up by the vinyl or the SS emblem or both.
