how bout a 1/4 mile guestimate

i went to the track for the first time yesturday, all i have available locally is 1/8 mile.......getting out of the box was a learning experience....they wouldnt let me run in the groove because they said my street tires were cutting up the track....so that yielded some poor 60 ft times...anyway, i ran a consistent 8.3 at 93 mph with 60 ft at 2.1 - 2.2. can anyone extrapolate what my results will be close to in the 1/4? im going to the super chevy event in atlanta this next week and am kinda curious what to expect

Any chance you can get some tires for next wknd? You make to much power for street tires. I'll be there next wknd if you have any questions or need some help.

8.3 will put you in the high 12s (12.7 @ 116 mph - my best guess). But you'll have a high trap speed for running high 12s.

With that 60' your spinning a good bit. I would put it at a 13.08@111 mph if you keep the same 60' and spinning up. If you can hook and keep every thing else good 12.7 - 12.8 @ 112 - 115. Good luck.

He's doing 93 mph in the 1/8 mile. He'll trap considerably more than 111 mph.

good rule of thumb, i've used this formula for many years now and its the closest most accurate one i've come up with. in your 1/8 time if you put down a 8.3, multiply it by 1.56 and you'll get your 1/4 time. 8.3*1.56=12.94 and mph im guessing would be around the 110 mark...

Again, he's going 93 mph in the 1/8 mile. He will trap way higher than 110 mph.

93 mph in the 1/8 mile is going to be 115+ mph in the 1/4 mile. Cars that trap 110 mph are only going around 87 mph in the 1/8 mile.

Your not taking into account how fast he is moving at the 1/8 mile mark. He's starting to pull hard (much harder and faster than your average high 12 sec car). That's why his trap speed will be much higher than what you'd expect for a car running high 12s.

My l99 w/bolt on's is running 8.30 at 87mph....he's 6 mph faster @ the 1/8 marker
so he should trap higher than 110 in the 1/4.

Yeah 93 mph for a 115-118 I'm thinking.
