How do you guys track your orders ?

<<<<<<<<<<Ordered 2LT RS M6 Trans in Imperial Blue Metallic and Gray Leather.
4/3/09 Order change. Removed Auto Trans.
4/17/09 Order pulled. Status Code 2000
4/24/09 Accepted by Production Control
Status Code 3000 >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>


Where do you get this information from ? And how do you track it ? Does the dealer give you a # to look up on the internet so something like that ?

From your dealer. They have to look up the status for you. You can call Customer service but they don't know any more than the dealer.

No other way I am afraid.

I have started calling the inventory manager. She knows where everything is as along as they have an invoice. I was told today that my car is produced but it's in QC so it has a VIN but they won't release it until the car has passed QC. The sales man didn't know but the IM did.

My dealer calls everyday at 0900 to give me an update, whether anything changes or not! I haven't had to call him, he says he is as excited as I am.

How do we track our orders?

With great difficulty!

Seems what would have been the "normal" way was getting the "event codes"
from the dealer. But the dealers don't always have the up to date info, and some, quite honestly don't either know how are don't want to keep looking it up unless you pester them to do it for you.

My dealer is quite the opposite, lol.

My dealer called me for the initial order, was the first since was on the list first back in the winter. I called him and actually talked to the supply/inventory manager. Spoke to him 2 weeks ago told me my car was scheduled for production. I went there last Friday, to see the showcar and see my status and he told me it was built, and gave me a GM workbench printout with my Vin#. I am going to call him today or tommorrow which will be likely the most nerve racking call since it is the delivery and shipped status update. Have no stripes on my car, so hopefully it was shipped already. I don't like to call the dealer everyday and be one of those customers. They know they have the sale, they know what I want, and they are doing everything they are supposed to be doing. Calling everyday and bugging them will not get my car there any faster.

How do you guys track your orders ?

Phone calls so far but since the info keeps changing, I'm thinking about switching to either a gypsy or the financial pages...so far most everything I origionally ordered fell into the constrained (delayed) category...I change my order whenever I hear about it on this list...I now have a different car...
