Whining noise

Hello everyone,

I just Got my 2012 v6 camaro with auto tranny. It has 46 miles on it. I was driving it home, and I noticed a type of whining noise, sounds almost like a belt noise. It only does it when I'm pushing the gas. I'm not sure if this is a normal sound, or of maybe the engine need to break in and it will go away. I just wanted to check and see of anyone knows anything about this.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Robert

Take her in. That low of mileage I would be worried. It could be tranny issues, belts, anything. Do it while you are mod free.

Only whining noise I ever hear is from the wife with all these mods I keep doing !

In all seriousness though - I hope you get it sorted.

Yea I was hoping it just a new car noise that would go away once everything was broken in. I guess I'll have I take it in and see what's up.

Did you have the A/C on? sometimes that makes noise...almost sounds like power steering.

I tried turn it on and off but no change...it's an odd sound, I'll see if I can get an audio clip of it, I'm not used to a v6 so maybe it's a normal thing lol. I'll get an audio clip and see what everyone thinks.

Hello All,

Below is a link to a youtube video containing the noise. note this is standing outside the car after it has warmed up with the car parked at idle.

Any help or reassurance that this is normal is greatly appreciated, thanks again for all the help.

I can't tell by the video. Take it in and let the dealer look at it, that is what the warranty is for. You might want to wait and drive around with the mechanic who checks out your car to explain what it is you hear.

Other wise they will probably drive your car and come back and say "Could not reproduce the sound, all checks OK."
