The last 5 digits of your vin will tell your build number for the year your car was produced. For example Mine is 36,498 in 2010

Each year the last 5 vin's seem to be re-set, obviously with other vin changes to denote the new model year and such. I don't think the number means much unless it was an early 2010 model, or maybe one of the first Convertible's, ZL1's and etc. I have always liked when you can narrow the number produced built exactly like yours, by options and color. It's a system that worked on 4th gen LS1's but pretty sure there isn't a such system with the 5th gens.

It's last six digits not five....
For example my vin is 000198, meaning my car is 198th built.... But actual production started with vin 100001. So what you have to do is take the sixth to last digit subtract one and then that is the digit before the last five digits on your vin... For example, 298546 would be the 198546th production camaro built And 123456 would be the 23,456th production camaro built |

That can't be right...

I believe yours was the 600329 camaro to roll off the plant, whether it was an LS, LT, RS, SS, ZL1, 1LE, Z28, Z71 (I know, that was a joke), etc, those are packages that go on to the camaro but it doesn't effect what number camaro is rolling off the production line.
Now if you are trying to find out what number your Z28 is out of the total number of Z28 built that year, there may be a different way to find that out.

Disregard the 7. Yours would be #329. My 2014 1LE has a 9 there and they didn't build 800,000 Camaro's in 2014. You really only go by the last 5 numbers. Your Z/28 build number might be different though. I can't remember if GM assigned the Z/28 build numbers into the VIN or not.

I was going off his statement of 600*** for the VIN. I was more focused on the packages that can be added to make the different models.
Felt dumb after I hit reply, lol.

The ZL1s had vins unique to the other trim levels. Guessing Z28s did as well. My '13 ZL1 was 804453. For the other trim levels the sixth digit from right is the run #. As was poster earlier, 1 in that spot is production run #1, meaning vins 1-99999. 2 was 100000-199999

That sequence only worked for so long. At some point I think Buicks were added to the
line so the vins were mixed up. I know it worked for my '10 SS (32351 built 8/4/09) but not sure about the later years. I know someone here will have the correct information.
