Has anyone done this? I just installed some red footwells and would like to do the same underneath the doors if possible. I'm not sure where I would t tap into though... any help/pics?

I've done this. I did a fuse tap and a t-tap into the purple ABL wire, spliced it to the footwells and ran it to a 3-way switch. That way I can turn the switch one way and they fade in with the dome light or I can leave it on permanently by putting the switch the other way.
I had a diagram drawn up somewhere. I can try to find it.

Here are ones I put right below my weather strip and at night really lights up my sill plate nicely. I got them from Oznium.

I tapped into the same wire I tapped into for my foot well lighting. Right off of the BCM harness. They only come one when the door opens.

My diagram is here. You can splice as many strips together as you wan't (not like a million though haha)

^There ya go

I'd say the toughest part for me was tapping the purple wire, its a real tight spot for a big guy like me.

Also, keep track of your wires, I just cut long lengths of wire so it's a bit of a mess in the car (they're all hidden so no one sees it but still haha)

btw, if you already installed footwells and tapped into the purple ABL wire then just splice on two extra wires for the under door lights on both side.
I really like the way the red looks in my car.

I attached some to the underside of my door. There are a few small black plugs that run along the underside that made getting wires inside really easy. I attached mine to the same point as my front and rear footwells, dome light and cup holder. The only down side is the wires are partially visable when the door is open as it is completely impossible to run the wires through the protective rubber tube. When my doors open the lights come on and light the whole area in which I am about to step and it looks awesome, sorry never took any pics and kinda still daylight out to take some now. And if you can wait, the 15" strips are really cheap on Ebay.

I wish I would have checked eBay first. I payed $60 for 4 strips at autozone and then I checked eBay and they had a set of four for $15!!! Anyway so should I wire them into the wire underneath the steering wheel? I don't think the wire from the right side will reach :(

What I did with mine was solder on more wire and brought them to the center console. I have excellent grounds there and more than enough room to work within. I have one wire that runs the dome light that I t-tapped and have running to the center console as well. Just easier as I am 6'4" and working upside down is a huge pita.
