Best Overall Suspension Upgrade?

I have a 2012 2SS LS3 and I am trying to find the best overall suspension upgrade for handling as well as drag racing. I would appreciate any opinions, experience, or facts from you guys...thanks.

You will find all kinds of advice on that topic if you search. But for your type of racing a good start is sub-frame bushings, rear toe link and trailing arms. The list will go on from there.

Search in the suspension threads for a post by BMR. They made a nice video to show you before and after performance of eliminating wheel hop with various parts upgrades.

For all around performance our favorite modification is a set of sway bars. They really do make these cars come alive, and much more fun once the factory understeer has been dialed out.

For best drag racing improvement I agree with Bannonm, rear trailing arms and tie rods will make a real difference without a ton of effort, and past that moving to solid subframe mounts should tidy up the rear end of the car quite a bit. We have a video up online showing the before and after footage from a car with our Solid Subframe Mounts installed. You can see that there is a ton of movement between the rear subframe and the chassis on a hard launch, and by eliminating that movement you will end up with a car that's easier to launch hard.

What about the sub frame connection? Is that something that is good to add as well?

Sub frame bushings and sway bars for sure.
Pete from Pedders can help you out with great advice.

When we were developing our Solid Subframe Mounts we also looked at building a subframe brace as well. What we found is that we could get more performance and no increase in weight with solid mounts rather than an additional brace.

When I lower my car will lowering the front more than the rear create more downforce or is the difference negligible? From what I understand the camaro from the factory has a 200lb uplift on it with the aerodynamics where the ZL1 has like 950lbs of downforce on it.

Always start with the fondation. Start with bushings.

Are you doing it all at once or looking for a "road map" for doing it a piece at a time. If all at once, what is the budget for your suspension build? Depending on those answers I would start with bushings and then move on to the major components.

I will more than likely do it all at once. My budget is kind of up in the air i would say no more than around 4500 but I would like to start lower than that and then upgrade as I go along I am thinking around 2500 to start or so.

Take a look at the Pfadt Stage 3. It is well within your budget and a great combo for drag racing improvement and overall handling. It includes their rear arm package and solid sub frame bushings which are, in my opinion, the best engineered solution available in those areas. They just plain work and look sexy as hell while doing it. I would post a link but....
