RX kit has a separate belt to take stress of the already over loaded serpinten belt. And if the sc belt breaks you can still drive the car unlike others that are all run with the same belt. If it broke you are stuck on the side of the road. Tracy also provides top notch customer service and will do anything to help and asks for nothing in return. I personally went with the RX Performance S/C and can't wait till I recieve it and do an at home install!
But that's just my .02

Cause I was leaning toward on getting the Rx SC sent here and have a local speed shop install it. But I'm worried if an issue arises they wont address it. They deal with muscle cars all day but not everyday someone is SC'n a v6.

I think you will be fine. From what I can tell the IPF set up seems to be a well engineered set up but at the moment is not set up to deal with existing mods you may already have such as LT headers full catback ported IM/TB, insulators but I do believe they are working on solving those issues by coming up with tunes to accommodate additional mods.
RX's system seems to have more options like the Super Chiller, high pressure fuel pump etc and it seems to be more mod friendly at the moment. They both use the same Vortec v3 head unit so similar but with the extra options RX has, I think you'll make more power with the RX system at this time. They are both good options and it really comes down to what your wants and needs and goals are. One of the things I'm looking for being that my car is in a lot of car shows and on display 6 days a week is a system that says very loudly "I'm SC'd" and RX's system visually has more of a WOW factor. The IPF set up is a very clean almost factory looking install and you really have to know what to look for to know it has a SC under the hood. Great if you're going for the sleeper thing. If you want any chrome or polished bits, they charge extra. Otherwise it's black which is cool too. Good luck.

SixJak broke it down to you in a great way. Both get systems working towards the same goal of giving us V6 owners more options. Like Six said for now RX offers a mod friendly tuning solution. But IPF suppose to be addressing that soon.

Thanks all. I would add one more point, the RX system has an optional billet overdrive crank pulley so you have the option of more boost, and we have the higher output fuel HPDI fuel pump available. The RX system comes with the RX dual valve oil separating crankcase evac system standard and the guage pod and wide band A/F and boost guage.

I went with the IPF because:
1. You can get a warrnty, at a cheap price for peace of mind. 2. I could determine from the IPF kit how much power was actually gained, and I knew it worked. 3. The dedicated belt in my opinion, puts additional strain on the engine's crank. 4. My installer said that the 60 page installation manual was very easy to follow, and the fit was perfect. 5. It does have a crankcase evac sytem. 6. I also wanted a system easy to remove when the car was sold, so that I could resell the kit, plus the car will have a better resale value when it is returned to original. I am sure the RX system is great, because the one that has it say's he likes it (and I will get bashed for this), but I have not seen one piece of information with actual dyno numbers or 1/4 mile times for the RX system. How does anyone know that it actually puts out more HP than the IPF? Even with all the exra mods. The IPF system is also much faster to have shipped and installed. This is my opinion and I am not bashing anyone else's system just trying to explain how I came to my decision. |

You can get a warranty for the rx system as well.

I know you say you dont know how to post pics or video but trust me if i can do it, a monkey could do it. I'm by no means a tech savvy person. Thank heavens for my iPhone and the Tapatalk app. I can post video to YouTube in a matter of minutes and post a pic on this forum of anything I want. If you have an Android or iPhone and a computer, you can easily do this.
