Are hockey stripes painted on or removeable? - Camaro5 Chevy Camaro Forum / Camaro ZL1, SS and V6 Forums

Hey guys, silly question, but are the hockey stripes removeable or painted on? I have found a camaro optioned the way I like it, but it has stripes (white stripes on a black car, the hockey stripe/solid stripe package) and I wanted to know if it was removable.

I would like to take those stripes off and put on Cyber gray stripes. Thanks guys.

(by the way, that would mean I would cancel my order and get this other one

)

They are vinyl stripes.

my question is they are removable but once you leave them on there for a few years how does the paint look after taking them off.

So the paint wont match if they are taken off years down the road, or if they are taken off, like after a few weeks. I really want to get this car, but the only hang up is the white stripes and hockey stripes, i want them off and replaced with Cyber grey rally stripes. And I dont want to mess up the paint... hmmm..

I mean what are you ordering because you should be able to get the color you want to begin with or change the order unless its on the way. So the stripe on the hood should be a solid one and what color are you getting that. are u saying that you want the hood stripe to be different from the hockey stripes in color. I would think the dealer should be able to take them off right away without any sort of damage.

White stripes? Leave them on maybe it will be a couple degree's cooler than hell.

(Hell = black camaro in a mall parking lot for 3 hours on 100 degree 10 UV day.)

HAHA yeah I know black cars are HOT in the beaming sunlight, i used to bake in my Impala SS (94).

But yeah, I ordered a silver SS with black stripes, but still at 1100. I found an SS, black on black, with the white stripe package. My second choice is a black ss, however with grey rally stripes. I was wondering if I went ahead and bought that ss how dangerous it would be to take the already installed white stripe package off.

Seems like it shouldnt be a problem, thanks for the input fellas.

Color match won't be a problem if the white stripes are removed soon after you get the car. But why settle for your second choice? Your wait for SIM will be weeks, but you'll have the car for years.
