QUESTION FOR ANYONE WAITING ON ORDER? - Camaro5 Chevy Camaro Forum / Camaro ZL1, SS and V6 Forums

hi, i placed an order last tuesday 05/12/09. i got an order number and all but, my question to anyone who has ordered and has been waiting is, after the day you put the order in how long did you wait to start checking the status or event code on your order? also how often do you check it to see if its been updated ? any info on this subject would greatly be appreciated -thanks

Do yourself a favor - DON'T CHECK!!!! Give it a month and then call your dealer. Ever hear the old saying "A watched pot never boils"? If you keep "watching" your camaro it will never be made! LOL!

I waited about a month before i started checking. but its still not moving, i call my dealer about once a week or so for an update.

Thats exactly what i did and i still sit here typing rather than driving. Dont get me wrong this site has kept me from going nuts waiting.

lol, thats what i was thinking.....i just didnt wanna be like this freakin guy that the dealer is dreading a phone call from because hes calling every day asking whats my status? ok cool ill prolly call like once a month then

I ordered in October and I didn't start checking until the end of March.

Yep, there are a WHOLE BUNCH of people waiting on their orders on this forum...some are stuck at 1100 status, some like me are stuck in the "Hell hath arrived" 3800 status, and yet others have seen their cars delivered to their dealer only to be told they can't be released.

This waiting is absolute hell and GM isn't talking about (at least what I've been able to find)

Good luck, I'd suggest finding a new hobby to keep yourself occupied!

well luckly im not in a big hurry to get it, so the wait game is ok for me as of now....gives me more time to save up a bigger down, i plan on putting at least half or a lil more down for a 1ssrs. i was told something like september but even i doubted that from evrything ive heard on these forums...as long as i get it this year ill be pretty happy and if it goes to next year well it better be before my wedding in march!! lol

oh yeah, also if you recieve an order number does that mean your 1100? or do you get a call or make a call to find out that the order is official?

6 months/check every month/ will stop checking after June 1...

The suggestion above to find a new hobby is a good one. I'm writing my second novel now, and originally was not going to purchase a Camaro until I finished it. But when I learned from this site how long it was taking to get the cars, I decided to order one--and try to finish my book before it arrives. Now, if I can finish the next 300 pages before the dealer calls, the Camaro will be my reward. If my car arrives before I finish, I'm going to be in a world of trouble and over deadline from all the driving...but we writers are a superstitious bunch and I suspect the gods will not let me have my car until I finish the book.

So my new mantra is

"Seven pages a day keeps the Camaro blues away..." or maybe it's "...brings the Camaro closer every day..."

Something like that.

I've only checked one time and that is because after the reports of the RS package dropping off of some orders I wanted to meke sure mine was still good. It was early April and I was 3000. I'll wait til my dealer calls me. It's so much easier this way.
