Sway bars and rear sub frame bushings would be my suggestion. Those two things will transform your cars handling and you will have money left over.

We would suggest Sway bars and our Rear Arm Package. You'll have some cash left over for install as well!
The sway bars will help the car corner much more effectively, and the rear arm package will help keep the rear end from wheel hopping while launching the car aggressively. With these two bolt up mods you will not only help the car out in a straight line, but handle better also! ![]()

When you mention ride quality/performance are you suggesting that you want an increase in performance without a change in ride quality? Is the $1000 only for suspension improvements?
I am in a similar area of spending for suspension: Radius rod inserts, subframe bushings, sways, and alignment. One thing after reading up, I did learn that I may lose some of that soft comfortable ride quality in the Camaro, but I don't mind that personally. I would prefer more control and better feel of the car.

What are your goals? Improvement on the street, 1/4 mile or road racing/autocross?
I do all three and I did the BMR Full bushing Kit and had no adverse affect in ride quality on the street but it did stiffen everything up nicely for my other needs. I also installed their trailing arms and toe rods to counter wheel hop on the street and the 1/4 mile. Great improvement. I chose Pfadt for their sway bar and couldn't be happier. I got their aggressive street setup (I think) and that has really kept me flat in the turns in combination with the bushings. I got all my stuff from Jordan @ JDP Motorsports and could not be happier because of his prices and support. Good luck. Everyone thinks throwing HP at these cars makes a huge difference and forgets about the handling aspect. Once you upgrade your suspension you get a whole new grin going. T.

The drag strip is like sniffing glue, it's cheap, it's a decent buzz, it doesn't last long and they are all the same. Road racing is like China White Heroin, the buzz is stronger, the high lasts for hours, it's extremely addictive and they are all different. |
