Yes, it sure does. It is a federal regulation that you have cats and it is also a federal regulation that you do not remove perfectly good cats from your vehicle. But, there are ways around all that

Nothing a tuner can't take care of. IL goes by OBDII so if your code free you're all good.

I have been wondering this myself. Not really any mention of this by any of the aftermarket companies so far. Are they able to retain the stock cats and does it cause the check engine light to come on by moving them downstream? I must admit I don't really care much either way (no emissions checks here) but it would be nice if I did'nt have to delete the O2 codes like was typically done on 4th gens with long tubes.

Im curious to see what you guys encounter with longtubes and hi flows, a KNOW header company has been telling the SRT8 community a fix is in the works now going on 3 years now.

We can shut ours down with the Diablo but your ODBII wont be in a ready state to pass inspection.

you can use a device called the MIL eliminators that plug into the o2 sensor and give the computer the perfect reading it is looking for thus never setting off the CEL.

I've never had problems passing emissions with long tubes and off road pipes. I went to my local speed shop and they disabled the code in the computer.

Yes, if accidently they got “smashed” going over speed bumps. Or you “accidently” hit them with a hammer.

Not true. My 1995 Z28 had FLP long tubes and SLP loud mouth and I had it emission tested at Pohanka Chevrolet in chantilly, va and it passed everytime.
