How do you properly drift?

I figured this is a how-to and DIY section. So how do you properly drift in an automatic car and a manual car?

It's different between the two different transmission types and I think before you get started you need to really determine if this is something you want to do as your tires, transmission, suspension and body all take a hammering.

I say if that's o.k with you then go for it, just be ready that the learning curve can get extremely expensive really fast but the pay off is you will have a lot of fun.

Check around the area to see if anyone has a drifting school that allows you to use their car as they teach you to drift.
