Ok so I'm in the Hilton in Cleveland, OH and my wife calls me and tells me I will be peeing my pants shortly (her words, not mine).

I'm thinking...ok sure what's up.

So she suddenly got a huge influx of business and she's one of those people that truly believes that there are signs that tell you the path you are supposed to take. It's hard not to believe her, she has some pretty damn convincing examples, I've seen them with my own eyes.

So she's digging through our hard drive on my computer earlier today looking for some stuff for her latest designs and comes across some random 5th gen pics that I had laying around in there. A short time later she was thumbing through mail and one of those annoying "you've been pre-approved" letters drops and the amount is exactly what I told her we'd have to finance to consider getting a 1SS right now instead of waiting.

She puts the two together and figures...why not, see what happens. Long story short, the check is in the mail and I'm going hunting.

I'm getting a 1SS soon. This weekend we're going to Stingray Chevrlolet in Plant City and see how long the list is for a 1SS there...we have 45 days that we're locked in with the rate we got and I've gotta hope I can take delivery in that time.

I can't believe I might actually do this, I was really convinced I was waiting for at least a year before I could even consider it.

Is it smart to get excited? I'm a pessimist by nature, which is the polar opposite of my wife, obviously, but usually our opposite nature keeps us both grounded in reality in the middle somewhere. I want to be excited but there's so much that could go wrong...mainly delivery date not being in time and losing the loan. Then of course is the fact that once I buy this car, there is no convertible in my future...this will have to be my car for a long time and that scares me...I've never bought a new car nor had a long loan like this.

Crazy.

I'm so confused. I've been such an ass lately online and in RL, and I just survived lay-offs at my work, and not only did I survive them but it appears that I've actually thrived from them...I was told that I am held in high regard with people I've never even met above me on the ladder.

Is this is a sign? Do I really go through with this right now? Oy.

Uh... Dude. What about the vert? I think you'll totaly love the Camaro even with the hard top but you have been crooning over the convertable for a long time.

I say go for it but just make sure you're not gonna regret the non-vert part of it. This is totaly awesome.

and on a serious note DO NOT PAY OVER STICKER and find out when that check expires you might wait a while . if the dealer has one he might want over sticker .. so buyer beware ask us and we will let you know before you do it good luck and keep dancing and you have over 2300 posts and didnt early order

She won't change her mind...her mind is set, I'm the flip-flopper.

I don't think I'll regret the convertible part. I just...I'm not one that makes a decision this selfish very easily. It's earlier than I had counted on and now that the decision is upon us I can't help second-guessing our budget and other stuff, even if she is convinced we'd be fine.

Ugh!

So, since I hadn't really been paying attention, what's the lowest I can expect MSRP on a barebones 1SS for anyway.

They had already assured me they wouldn't, but I'm only taking that at face value at the moment.
