volt ride & drive

Ok got this from the man today dont know if seattle is one he will be at or not.

Good afternoon, Camaro Comrades, Firebird Friends, and Corvette Cousins!

A Chevy Volt Ride and Drive may be coming to a Shopping Mall near you this summer and fall -

(....and in some cases, I may be there with them.........)

Here’s the perfect opportunity to experience the award-winning Chevrolet Volt – the first electric car that runs on more than just electricity!
Would you like to drive using only electricity? You can!
Want to drive on electricity and gas for extended range? You can do that too! No more ‘range anxiety!’
It’s one thing to read about the Chevy Volt – it’s another to get behind the wheel and see the features, the comfort, the quietness – and overall value that it provides.
While you're visiting with us, you'll see several displays that better explain just what makes the Volt different from any other car on the road.
-- and did I mention that you'll receive a $10 Visa Mall Card just for taking a test drive?
We'll also have a few other Chevrolets on display for you to get in and out of - such as a Spark, a Sonic, a Cruze Eco, a Malibu Eco - and, of course -- a Camaro!
All drivers must be 18 years or older with a valid U.S. driver’s license.
I hope to see you at one of these events!
Here are the Cities and Mall Locations:

SEATTLE "Southcenter Mall
2800 Southcenter Mall
Seattle, WA 98188"
Saturday July 21 10am-6pm
Sunday July 22 Noon-6pm

PORTLAND "Clackamas Town Center Mall
12000 SE 82nd Avenue
Happy Valley, OR 97086"
Saturday July 28 10am-6pm
Sunday July 29 Noon-6pm

Not trading in my camaro.

But I do think the volt actually looks better than it's same class competition.

I wouldn't even know what FbodFather looks like to ask for an autograph.

But I bet if I hang around Tammy, she'll make it obvious if he shows up.

If you haven't driven one, it's definitely worth the experience to go check one out.

I was at Michael's Chevrolet and asked if I could drive one. The sales rep said to take it up I90 and spin it around at SR 18 to get a feel for how it does going up a grade.

It's a very neat car. Good torque (I mean, compared to the Camaro, it's weak, but it doesn't feel like a small car), and GM did a really good job with the infotainment/interfaces. It drives very well, and fuel economy was in the high 80's IIRC according to the display (I'm sure it had lots of test drives). When the engine kicks on, it's imperceptible at speed, and the car is very quiet overall.

I don't know if it's THE answer to the electric car market, but it's certainly a conversation starter and a very good piece, as-is.
