2LT Test drive and Impressions.

So, on May 6th., Paddock Chev in Kenmore NY had the Camaro Introduction. They had an Aqua Blue Metalic on the showroom floor and a 2LT Rally Yellow that, although sold, was being used as a Demo. I guess the 'owner' could not take possession until June 1st. and she new that they were using it as a Demo and apparently had no choice. You had to have your license scanned as you got in line to take the RY for a spin. Nice!!!! Handled really well, solid, quiet. The window is at about the top of your shoulder so you're down deep. The front is way out there and you have to kind of relearn to drive, not really knowing where you're steering into. My 15 year old was in the back seat, behind the salesman (he was a bit of a small guy). My son, about 5'9" and couldn't stop drooling, said he had plenty of room back there. I myself was very comfortable in the leather seat. I'm about 6' 240# and was not crowded. In and out was not bad. Hitting some straight aways I gunned it. Nice pick up but almost no engine noise inside. Got a lot of looks from bystanders though. The whole ride took about 15 min.
So, I'm glad I got my order straight with my dealer (not Paddock) and can't wait for delivery.

at 5 10 160, i sat in my dealers car, and yes there is enough room back there for me as long as the seats are moved up a bit. the saving grace is the fact that the back of the seats have a stretchy fabric which allows your knees to go into the seat. that said I wouldnt have lasted for more than 10-15 minutes, though that was behind the driver not the passenger.

question tony C what did you think of the leather seats?

Did you have the radio on? The videos that I have heard of the 2LT have a nice loud engine roar in the cabin when gunning it. Check out this video.

No, I don't remember the radio being on but I also didn't have that long a stretch of a road. It was all city streets and could only get it up to maybe 40 mph before I had to slow down again, so maybe that didn't give the engine enough time to rev up. Still sounded nice with the time I had to gun it though!!
