did the dealer lose money?

I know they always say that but I'm kind of curious as I think I got an awesome deal. The salesman said they lost 3k but I really doubt that. When I asked another dealership to match, the best they could do was $1500 more and they claimed they'd be losing $800 (right!)

2012, 2ls with quarter flares
for $22,200 +ttl, or $24,250 OTD.

Sadly if I had USAA I would have gotten another $750 off.

It's an awesome car, just got back from a trip on the ortega.

Unless you took the car by force with a gun after it sat on the lot over 1 year.. I doubt they lost money...

Yea, that's what I figured. I should note that this does include the preferred pricing and $500 rebate

I could very well be wrong... But, if they did actually lose money.. I'd put that on the wall...

I can't even remember all the comments I've been told over the years buying cars..

Yeah the USAA rebate can be awesome at times. I'm actually making the move to USAA in mid Aug due to be moving out of state and my current insurance company isn't available in VA.

Next purchase will be a '13 or '14 either the 1LE(which the rebate would apply) or the ZL(which it wont). We'll see...

Dealer price is 22,700 and dealer invoice is 23,400. They also get hold back and the unit it counts towards monthly awards etc...Yep that is how they pay for those big bldgs, selling at a loss..

They are selling under invoice now to move units for the '13s...

I don't mind the dealer making money, that's how they stay in business. But I certainly don't need to be buying them a new boat. Give me a fair deal with no hassles and I'm in. Screw with me and I'm out.
